A look at who Arsenal should sign next in the summer transfer window as Andrea Berta and Mikel Arteta get to work behind the scenes
Arsenal confirmed their first summer signing this week with Piero Hincapie joining from Bayer Leverkusen. The Ecuador international joined the Gunners on loan last season and the club have now made the deal permanent, agreeing a €40million (£34.5million) fee plus add-ons for the defender.
Hincapie, who has signed a deal until 2031, played a major role under Mikel Arteta during the 2025/26 season and helped the club win their first Premier League title in 22 years. With the signing of Hincapie now official, Andrea Berta and Arteta can focus on additional incomings.
It’s expected to be a busy couple of months at the Emirates Stadium, with the likes of Morgan Rogers, Bradley Barcola, Ayyoub Bouaddi, Christos Tzolis, Eli Junior Kroupi, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes all linked with a move to north London.

This is really easy for me but the sooner that Arsenal get a deal done for Morgan Rogers the better. We’ve now seen Manchester City secure the deal for Elliot Anderson paying a massive transfer fee which is only going to inflate the market more and give sides like Villa resolve to hold out for an overpriced figure.
Rogers would be an excellent move for the club and add the quality to the left hand side that is needed during this window. While £100million is no doubt a lot of money I would be willing to see the club invest in a player who has a good decade of football still ahead of him at the elite level.
£10million a season, what a bargain! Right?
On a serious note, Arsenal have plenty of areas that need to be strengthened and knowing Rogers has been sorted ahead of the new campaign would bring a real boost to an already Premier League title-winning side.

Arsenal must get this right. Signings need to increase the quality of the starting XI and the squad. After winning the Premier League and reaching the final of the Champions League and Carabao Cup, that is no easy task.
PSG’s Bradley Barcola is a player who I would target. I’ve loved watching him play for PSG this season and also for France at the World Cup. His speed and trickery truly gets you excited and I believe he could be what the Gunners need. There’s no question that he’s an upgrade on both Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard.
The winger could cost around £70million as he’s entered the final two years of his deal in Paris. The France international, who netted 13 goals in 49 appearances last season, has also attracted interest from Liverpool and is said to potentially want an exit this summer, which could play into Arsenal’s hands.
Jake Stokes
Arsenal should do whatever it takes to sign Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain. Morgan Rogers would certainly be a good signing, but I just don’t think he would offer the Gunners as much as the 23-year-old winger, who could be just as much of an outlet as a key to low-blocks.
Barcola has been a joy to watch for a while now and I think he’s ready to take his game to the next level. In the French capital, he’s rarely been given the chance to be a talisman, with Luis Enrique, understandably so, opting for a front-three of Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue in each of the last two finals of the Champions League.
Despite playing a key role in the league phase and early stages of the knockouts, Barcola was snubbed. At Arsenal, he can become one of the main men in the frontline, mirroring Bukayo Saka.
Rogers has great quality and bags of potential to still be unlocked, but I just think the pressure and opportunity to prove a point and lead the frontline at one of the top teams in Europe will bring the best out of the France international.
Of course, it’s a gamble, but in order to dethrone PSG, Mikel Arteta and Andrea Berta need to take a risk. With just two years left on his contract at Parc des Princes, too, Barcola could be a shrewd acquisition and better value for money, leaving cash to splash on other targets.
