Bahrain has condemned what it said were Iranian drone attacks on its territory on Saturday and accused Iran of undermining peace efforts in the region.
In a statement from the foreign ministry, it added that Bahrain reserves the full right to defend its sovereignty and security.
No casualties have been reported, although the statement said that the incident endangered civilians and was described as a “serious violation” of international law.
Iran said earlier that it had carried out strikes against US-linked targets in the region, without identifying their location, following American strikes on its coastal surveillance facilities.
