Manchester City have agreed a deal worth around £116 million to sign midfielder Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
According to BBC Sport (via Shoot) City are insisting that the fee is £116 million – which would represent a club record signing for the Citizens – however other sources are claiming that the deal is actually worth a British-record £130 million.
The current British transfer record is the £125 million that Liverpool paid to sign forward Alexander Isak from Newcastle United last summer.
Anderson, 23, joined Forest from Newcastle United back in 2024 for a fee of around £35 million, and he has since made 68 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring four goals.

The midfielder’s impressive displays at The City Ground earned him a senior international debut for England in September last year, and he was included in Tuchel’s squad for the World Cup in North America this summer.
The report suggests that Anderson will now undergo a medical with City, before completing a move to The Etihad and joining the Citizens ahead of the start of next season.
Anderson’s current contract with Forest isn’t set to expire until the summer of 2029, but it appears almost certain that he will now join Manchester City this summer.
