The Gunners are keen to strengthen their squad
Transfer rumours involving Arsenal are gathering pace as we approach two weeks since the summer window opened.
The Gunners are yet to officially confirm any new senior signings, though they have still been making progress behind the scenes. Various targets, based domestically and abroad, have been widely reported. However, it is expected that the real business will be conducted next month as the World Cup draws to a close.
Manager Mikel Arteta is understood to be eager to strengthen in multiple areas, particularly central midfield, left wing and up-front. This could result in the 2025/26 Premier League champions spending close to the club record £250million sum they splurged last year.

Now, with speculation intensifying, football.london examines two of the latest transfer updates concerning the north London club.
Bouaddi’s transfer stance
Arsenal target Ayyoub Bouaddi will only entertain approaches from clubs this summer who can promise him a “key role”, according to The Athletic. The 18-year-old Lille midfielder has drawn interest from several elite clubs, including Arsenal and Real Madrid.
He is currently appearing for Morocco at the World Cup, where his outstanding displays have attracted significant attention. But football.london understands Arsenal sporting director Berta had already made inroads with Bouaddi’s representatives.
These conversations did not take place this week; they are understood to have happened as early as the start of the year as the Italian chief has known for some time that Bouaddi was a world-class talent. However, according to the Athletic, Berta would need to assure him of regular first-team football to persuade him to leave Lille, who have qualified for the Champions League this season.
The Ligue 1 club have reportedly valued Bouaddi at £68.9m, with the youngster already having made 96 appearances for the French side. Any potential transfer will have to wait until after the World Cup concludes.
Approach made for Trossard
Saudi Pro League side Al Diraiyah have reportedly lodged a £17m bid for Leandro Trossard. The 31-year-old has already been linked with a departure from north London, with the Gunners understood to be making a new left-sided winger a priority this summer.
Now, according to Belgian outlet Het Nieuwsblad, Saudi club Al-Diraiyah have shown an interest in signing Trossard and approached the Gunners with a £17m offer. Al-Diraiyah are looking to strengthen their squad following their promotion to Saudi Arabia’s top flight, and Dougie Freedman, the club’s sporting director, sees the Belgium international, currently competing at the World Cup, as a prime target.
Reports suggest they are prepared to offer Trossard, who has only 12 months remaining on his existing Emirates Stadium deal, a contract worth nearly £9m-a-year if he shows a willingness to relocate to the Middle East – described in the report as a ‘monster’ offer.
Aston Villa, Besiktas and Newcastle United are among the other clubs rumoured to be interested in Trossard, who has registered 36 goals and 34 assists across 174 appearances for Arsenal.
