Manchester United and Arsenal are tracking Bournemouth’s Alex Scott.
The 22-year-old midfielder had a standout season for the overperforming Cherries and came close to landing a place in England’s World Cup squad.
Daily Mail Sport understands any successful move would need to be around the £60m mark.
United have already agreed a deal for Atalanta’s Ederson, which is expected to be concluded after the tournament.

But they are further seeking to bolster the middle of the park following the departure of Casemiro – and are keen on relegated West Ham star Mateus Fernandes. However, Tottenham Hotspur are also in the hunt and have surprised some with what appears to be an aggressive approach to their transfer window, in which large sums are on the table.
United’s need could be exacerbated by the departure of midfielder Manuel Ugarte, for whom the club will listen to offers. They will also play Champions League football this season and are in need of reinforcements, but will only act if the deal is right.
Bournemouth are keen to tie Scott down to a new deal, although that could be tricky given the number of suitors for a man whose current contract expires in 2028.
Scott is regarded as one of the best young midfielders in the country and was with England for their pre-tournament warm-up camp in Florida.
