Disgraced pitcher Trevor Bauer has signed with a new team in Mexico, despite telling Major League Baseball teams he would play for them for free.
Bauer, who was blackballed by franchises in 2021 over allegations of sexual assault, has re-signed with the Diablos Rojos.
He has been desperately searching for a return to MLB ever since he completed his suspension – initially 324 games but reduced to 194.
Bauer was never criminally charged after a San Diego woman made sexual assault allegations against him, and he has always maintained his innocence.
But despite impressing with a series of dominant performances for the Long Island Ducks in the Atlantic League, Bauer was unable to attract interest from MLB.
Instead he has rejoined the Mexican team Rojos, with whom he went 10-0 during a spell back in 2024.

Speaking last month, the 2020 National League Cy Young Award winner revealed that no teams in MLB wanted him despite his offer to play for free.
Speaking on OutKick’s ‘Don’t @ Me with Dan Dakich’, Bauer explained: ‘I don’t know exactly what goes on behind the scenes. I have my suspicions, of course.
‘All I know is what the pattern is that we see. I can’t tell you how many different teams we’ve talked to.’
It comes just weeks after Bauer was left looking dazed and confused after a horror car crash in Arizona.
Bauer escaped unhurt after another driver collided with his $600k McLaren sports car and sent him spinning out of control, per TMZ.
The outlet published several photos and videos of the accident in Scottsdale, which the 35-year-old is not believed to have been at fault for.
Video obtained by the Daily Mail showed Bauer’s initial reaction moments after the crash occurred in Scottsdale.
A bystander can be seen walking up to his McLaren, which was resting against a street pole after it had just been hit on the driver’s side door by a sedan.

Bauer then slid across the passenger seat and climbed out of the car, before a witness was heard saying: ‘Holy s***. Dude, don’t move too fast. That was a direct hit.’
The baffled ex-baseball star then responded: ‘Dude, what the f***?’
Officials later confirmed that nobody was injured or even taken to hospital as a result of the crash.
Sources close to Bauer reportedly told TMZ that he was driving in the 45mph speed zone and in the correct lane when the other driver crashed into him, sending him spinning out of control.
In images from the aftermath of the crash, the former Los Angeles Dodgers star – wearing a backwards cap – could be seen chatting with police officers at the scene of the incident.
It was reported that Bauer was in Arizona for medical treatment, though – on the back injury that left him on the Long Island Ducks injury list.
