Wyndham Clark battled tough conditions and a crowd desperately hoping for his downfall to win his second major championship at the US Open on Sunday.
The American, 32, led by six shots going into the final round at Shinnecock Hills, New York, and managed to cling on to win by a single shot after a brutal final round.
Sam Burns finished just short of victory when he missed a birdie putt by inches on the 18th green, and Clark held on for his second US Open title, three years on from his first.
