As Morgan Rogers continues to be linked with a move to Arsenal, a potential reunion is now heavily on the cards for the England international
Morgan Rogers will reunite with Aston Villa at Villa Park on matchday two of the new season if he joins Arsenal before the start of the Premier League campaign.
football.london understands Rogers, currently at the World Cup with England, is a top target for the Gunners this summer. It has been claimed the Gunners are stepping up their interest in the versatile midfielder, who can also play on the left wing.
It’s understood a fee of £80million would be enough for Villa to listen to offers for the 23-year-old, who is currently with the Three Lions at the World Cup. If he was to move to Mikel Arteta’s side, he would have a potentially awkward reunion to contend with.

The Gunners begin the campaign by hosting Frank Lampard and newly promoted Coventry City. This is then swiftly followed by the away clash against Villa in the Midlands.
It would likely be a tense reunion for Rogers, who contributed ten goals and seven Premier League assists for Unai Emery’s side last season. Chelsea are also believed to be interested in him as are Manchester United.

According to Sky Sports, Arsenal are trying to push forward in their attempts of signing the midfielder, who arrived from Middlesbrough for a deal worth around £15m in the 2024 January transfer window. Villa are in a strong position to hold onto him having qualified for the Champions League while also winning the Europa League.
In November, he also signed a new contract committing him to Villa Park until 2031. Not long after touching down in the United States of America for the World Cup, Rogers was asked about the links to the north Londoners.
He gave nothing away, replying to the Rest is Football podcast: “I think the first time it ever happened it was. You’re in an uncomfortable spot of not realising that people have so much interest in you and you’re not quite realising that.
“But as you get older and gain experience along the way, you know that comes with it and 95 per cent of it is just noise. You hear it, course you do.
“You can’t help not [hearing it]. You know it’s there but you’ve got to use it in a positive way. You just try and get on with your game and just focus.”
Rogers is not the only versatile attacking midfielder Arsenal are considering. Club Brugge left winger Christos Tzolis, who is supposedly valued at around £34m, is also believed to be of interest.
Defensive midfielder Ayyoud Bouaddi, who starred for Morocco against Brazil, has also been linked with Arsenal. The Gunners are not the only ones paying attention to him as United are also understood to be pondering a move for the Lille midfielder.
