Nico Williams hint
Athletic Club winger Nico Williams has confirmed that he wants to remain with the Spanish outfit for the rest of his career despite transfer interest from Arsenal.
Williams’ current deal with Edin Terzic’s side isn’t due to expire for another nine years and although rumours have suggested that Arsenal could rekindle their interest in his signature, amid their continued pursuit of a new left winger, the Spain superstar has confirmed that he has no intention in leaving Athletic Club. In fact, he would like to sign a lifetime contract with the club if possible.
Speaking to El Larguero while on international duty with Spain at the World Cup, Williams was asked about his future and whether a transfer could be on the cards before the end of the summer window.
“I am very comfortable at Athletic,” he replied. “The first thing I want to do is repay the affection they have given me this year. I would like to see out my entire contract – I’d sign up for that right now – but in football, anything can happen.
“If the club wants to get rid of me, then I’ll have to leave, but if it were up to me, I’d sign up to be there for the rest of my life.”
Jeremy Monga deal close
Arsenal are “one step away” from signing Leicester City wonderkid Jeremy Monga, according to transfer reporter Nicolo Schira.
The England U19 international has already reached a full agreement on personal terms with the Gunners and it’s believed that a deal will be formally announced shortly.
Monga is expected to either be sent out on loan for the 2026-27 season or feature regularly for Arsenal’s U21 side, with first-team involvement likely to be limited during his first year at the Emirates Stadium.
Fabio Vieira latest
Arsenal are open to offers for Fabio Vieira this summer, as confirmed by Football Insider.
The Portuguese midfielder spent last season on loan at Bundesliga side Hamburg and they are interested in signing him permanently, although reports indicate they are only willing to bid €10m for him.
Mikel Arteta has no intention of reintegrating Vieira into his team in north London and a sale is expected to take place before the window shuts on 1 September.
Nottingham Forest are believed to be among his suitors amid interest in their star man Morgan Gibbs-White.
Arsenal want ‘next Kvaratskhelia’
Arsenal are set to make an opening bid for FC Kolkheti attacking midfielder Andria Bartishvili, according to BBC Sport.
The Georgia U21 international has been compared to his compatriot Khvicha Kvaratskhelia over the last year and Arsenal are ready to lodge a pre-contract offer to the 17-year-old.
Talks over a move are ongoing, however multiple other clubs are also interested in Bartishvili, including Serie A giants Juventus.
