Arsenal are making major moves in the transfer window
Arsenal have kicked off their transfer business just days into the summer window.
The relentless pace of top level football means the north Londoners are already working behind the scenes to strengthen their squad, having lifted the Premier League trophy last month.
Just days after their Champions League final defeat, 15 Gunners stars linked up with their respective national sides to participate in the ongoing World Cup 2026, which concludes on July 19. Arsenal attackers Kai Havertz and Viktor Gyokeres have already found the net for their nations, while Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice provided assists for England on Wednesday.

Back in N5, manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta are working to finalise multiple new additions, understood to include a midfielder, a left winger and possibly another striker. The English champions could invest around £250million once again this summer.
They will return to official club action on August 16, when they face Manchester City in the Community Shield. Now, football.london brings you two significant transfer updates concerning Arsenal.
Arsenal beat Liverpool to signing
Arsenal have hijacked Liverpool’s pursuit of teenage goalkeeper Phoenix Blayney. Blayney, 15, was secured from Northern Irish club Larne following an impressive trial with the Gunners.
Blayney chose Arsenal despite reportedly receiving contract offers from Liverpool and Nottingham Forest. The youngster was even photographed at Anfield wearing a Liverpool kit following a visit to their training ground.
However, his father has confirmed that Arsenal have won the battle for his signature, and the teenager is expected to sign a pre-contract when he joins up with the club this summer. He will be able to put pen to paper on professional terms when he turns 17 in November 2027.
Alan Blayney told the Belfast Telegraph: “Everything has been agreed with Arsenal, he just needs to sign the contract. When he’s 17, he will sign a professional contract. It’s done and dusted and a pre-contract will be signed when the time is right.”
Barcola approach lined up
Arsenal are reportedly drawing up a bid for Paris Saint-Germain’s Bradley Barcola. The 23-year-old, who recently marked his World Cup debut for France with a goal, has been on the radar of both the Gunners and Liverpool for some time.
The Independent now reports that Arsenal are exploring the necessary details ahead of submitting a formal offer for the winger. Elsewhere, Barcola’s price tag has been quoted at anywhere between £60million and £105m.
PSG would ideally keep the attacker but remain open to a sale and reshaping their forward line. Arteta, meanwhile, is focused on strengthening his attack this summer, with football.london understanding that Barcola viewed as a player capable of taking Arsenal’s forward line to new heights.
He found the net 13 times and provided seven assists across 39 outings last term, mainly featuring as a substitute, while lifting a league and European double.
