Jason Day withdraws from US Open just 10 holes into first round as he is carted off the course with injury

Jason Day’s US Open campaign came to an early end when he was carted off the course during Thursday’s first round. 

The Australian managed just 10 holes of the iconic Shinnecock Hills before he was forced to exit with a back injury. 

Day, who was seven-over for this round at the time of his exit, has withdrawn from the remainder of the tournament.
