Crysencio Summerville has been linked with a number of clubs this summer, including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur
Despite their heartbreaking relegation to the Championship, West Ham are in no hurry to offload Crysencio Summerville. Manchester United are the latest club to register their interest in the Dutchman, who marked his World Cup debut with a goal on Sunday during a thrilling 2-2 draw with Japan in Dallas.
Summerville’s profile has soared considerably since January, when Tottenham were also weighing up a move for the former Leeds United winger. Nevertheless, a host of clubs, including Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain, are now exploring the possibility of exploiting West Ham’s predicament in the hope of securing a cut-price deal.
West Ham sources insist that won’t be happening, with the club content to wait until after the World Cup before entering into any transfer negotiations. There is, however, a growing acknowledgement that retaining the player this summer will prove challenging, though the club will not be rushed into a hasty sale – a stance that equally applies to fellow United target Mateus Fernandes.

Both players have seen their wages reduced due to mechanisms in their respective contracts following West Ham’s relegation but this might not stop them being allowed to leave. The club’s new largest shareholder Daniel Kretinsky has claimed the Irons do not need to sell their prized assets, and there remains a possibility that captain Jarrod Bowen could stay and feature in the Championship next season.
It would take a fee in the region of £45million to bring West Ham to the negotiating table over Summerville, while Portuguese midfielder Fernandes is valued by the club at around £80million, with Real Madrid and Arsenal among those monitoring his situation. The Gunners won’t be stumping up that kind of money and have stepped back over the past week or so, leaving United in pole position unless Real Madrid decide to make a move.
Tottenham are hunting for a new winger for Roberto De Zerbi, with informal discussions ongoing with Manchester City regarding a potential transfer for Savinho. Liverpool are also seeking a new left-sided forward and previously ran the rule over Summerville before he moved to the London Stadium in 2024, though it’s unclear whether they’ll throw their hat into the ring this time.
United also have several other targets under consideration. According to reports, these include Everton’s Iliman Ndiaye and Morgan Rogers of Aston Villa.
