Tottenham are showing signs of movement in the summer transfer window, with the hierarchy hopeful of backing new head coach Roberto De Zerbi after last season’s disastrous Premier League campaign. Spurs only secured survival on the final day, with their 1‑0 win over Everton sending West Ham down to the Championship.
De Zerbi has already made two significant additions to his squad, bringing in Andy Robertson from Liverpool and Bournemouth’s Marcos Senesi on free transfers. Robertson arrives with a wealth of Premier League experience and is expected to play a key role in north London, while Senesi has established himself as a reliable performer in the division.
The transfer business isn’t expected to stop there, with a major overhaul anticipated – especially in defence, where the futures of Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven remain uncertain.

North London reunion
football.london understands that a reunion is set for both De Zerbi and defender Jan Paul van Hecke after a £52million agreement was reached between the clubs. It wasn’t a smooth process, with Spurs seeing several bids rejected by the Seagulls.
The Dutchman is currently focused on representing his country at the World Cup, having featured in the Netherlands’ opening game against Japan, which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Statement transfer
The signing of Sandro Tonali would certainly rank as a statement addition in De Zerbi’s first transfer window as Spurs boss.
The club are keen to get a deal over the line and have already held talks with the midfielder’s representatives – though he is valued at £100m by Newcastle United, according to The Athletic.

However, it’s suggested that Spurs are ‘yet to make contact’ with Newcastle over a move. Although the North East side are prepared to lose Tonali, they would still be looking to profit on the £61m they paid for the midfielder.
The Italian is said to have been offered to several clubs, including Spurs’ rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.
Savinho interest revived
In addition to targeting a defender and a midfielder, Spurs are also exploring options to strengthen the left‑wing position. After last summer’s failed pursuit of Savinho, Spurs are making a move again.
The Manchester City star saw his role reduced at the Etihad last season, making only seven starts. It is being reported that Spurs have decided to line up West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville as an option in case they can’t strike a deal for Savinho.
Summerville was a January transfer target for Spurs.
