Arsenal have confirmed the departures of 10 players as the summer transfer window gets up and running, with more potentially on the way
Arsenal are wasting no time in their pursuit of further success following this season’s Premier League title triumph. Indeed, the newly crowned champions of England have already sanctioned no fewer than 10 player departures this summer.
The summer transfer window’s barely been open 24 hours after Monday’s start date, yet the Gunners have been moving swiftly. At least eight players had already agreed to depart the Emirates Stadium upon the expiry of their contracts at the end of this month.
However, Mikel Arteta’s side have additionally agreed two more notable sales that could generate in excess of £20million. Furthermore, two additional deals could materialise in the very near future, bolstering Arsenal’s finances as activity begins to gather pace.
Jakub Kiwior has agreed to join Porto on a permanent basis after spending this season on loan in Portugal. Having helped the Dragons claim the Primeira Liga title, the club have opted to sign him on a four-year deal for £14.7m (plus £4.3m in bonuses).

That transfer could ultimately recoup almost all the £20m Arsenal spent to sign the Pole from Spezia in January 2023. Meanwhile, goalkeeper Karl Hein has agreed a £2.6m switch to Werder Bremen, having also spent this campaign on loan with the German outfit.
Those represent the only two summer transfers already finalised that will generate revenue for the club to date. Nevertheless, Fabio Vieira and Reiss Nelson could also contribute to the coffers depending on how developments unfold in the coming weeks.
Vieira impressed during his loan spell at Hamburg this season, while Nelson spent the campaign on loan at Brentford. Winger Nelson has already returned after the Bees chose not to activate his reported £15million permanent option, though another transfer could materialise.
It’s understood Hamburg have also permitted the £19million permanent clause in Vieira’s arrangement to expire following his loan. That said, this doesn’t necessarily signal the end of negotiations amid speculation they’re attempting to broker a deal for a substantially reduced sum.
Regarding free departures, Arsenal have bid farewell to former club prospects Josh Nichols, Sam Chapman, Will Lannin-Sweet, Samuel Onyekachukwu, Alexei Rojas-Fedorushchenko, Harrison Dudziak, Seb Ferdinand and Cam’ron Ismail.
Players including Ismail, Lannin-Sweet and Dudziak each spent periods on loan away from north London this season before departing on permanent terms. Ferdinand, 20, was among those to train with the first-team squad this campaign but will pursue opportunities elsewhere.
