Horror as teenager ‘gang-raped by three men’ in bushes and abandoned house

A 13-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped in an abandoned house by three men. Three men have been arrested and, if convicted, could face jail terms of up to 20 years and whipping.

An 18-year-old, a 24-year-old and a 23-year-old were charged and appeared in the Sessions Court in Malaysia following the alleged incident, which happened on May 27.

As reported by Malaysia’s New Straits Times, the 18-year-old is accused of raping the girl by the side of a road in Kampung Ragu, Manek Urai.

The other two defendants are accused of raping her at an abandoned house in Kampung Sunga Tias, between 1am and 1.30am the following day.

The case is due back in court on July 12.

It comes after a gang rapist involved in an unconnected incident walked free from a Malaysian court on a “good behaviour bond”.

The boy, who has not been identified, was convicted in 2021, and a court in Kedah, Malaysia, sentenced him to a behaviour bond rather than community service. Prosecutors appealed, arguing the boy should have a “severe custodial sentence”, but this appeal was dismissed.

The boy was charged with two others following the offence, which happened in a hotel in Alor Setar, the state capital of Kedah, on September 17, 2021.

His two co-accused were found guilty and jailed for 13 years each.

It was reported that crime in Malaysia rose 11.1% in 2024, largely driven by assaults and property-related offences.

Reported rapes increased by 12.1% to 1,899, while robberies decreased by 6.8%.
