Israeli military says it intercepted drone near Metula

The Israeli military said its air force intercepted a drone that entered an area where Israeli forces were operating in southern Lebanon, after sirens warning of a hostile aircraft sounded in the northern Israeli town of Metula.

In a statement, the Israeli army said the drone was identified and intercepted shortly after the alerts were activated.

It added that missile and rocket warning sirens were triggered during the interception attempts.

The incident comes amid continued Israeli military operations and incursions in southern Lebanon.
