US Centcom says it completed 'self-defense strikes' against Iran

US Central Command (Centcom) said that it completed “self-defense strikes” against Iran in response to the downing of an Apache helicopter a day earlier.

According to the statement, strikes targeted Iranian air defencem ground control stations and surveillance radar sites near the Strait of Hormuz.

“The operation was a proportional response to recent attacks on U.S. forces and international commercial ships transiting regional waters,” Centcom added.
