Polls have just closed in Maine and early votes are pouring in from South Carolina as voters in four states cast ballots Tuesday in the latest round of 2026 midterm primaries.
Republican Sen. Susan Collins easily secured renomination in Maine’s uncontested Senate primary, while on the Democratic side Graham Platner is the heavy favorite to win the nomination and challenge her in November.
In South Carolina, incumbent Sen. Lindsey Graham dominated his Republican primary.
Meanwhile, former Maine Governor Paul LePage won the Republican nomination to run in the state’s 2nd Congressional District.

South Carolina (Polls closed 7 p.m. ET)
US Senate Republican Primary
Incumbent Sen. Lindsey Graham is dominating early returns with 65.4% of the vote, well ahead of challenger Mark Lynch at 22.8%. Graham is on track for an easy renomination, according to NBC News.
US Senate Democratic Primary
State Sen. Annie Andrews leads with 59.9% against Brandon Brown at 31.8%.
Governor Races (Likely Runoffs)
Republican Primary: Lt. Gov. Pamela Evette leads with 35.4%, followed by Wilson at 22.2%. A runoff appears likely on June 23.
Democratic Primary: Joe Johnson leads with 55.7% over Webster at 33.4%.
Maine (Polls closed 8 p.m. ET)
Results are not yet available for the high-profile Democratic Senate primary. Marine veteran and oyster farmer Graham Platner enters the night as the heavy favorite to win the nomination and face incumbent Republican Sen. Susan Collins in November.
Maine’s Democratic primary for the open 2nd Congressional District is also being watched closely.

Nevada and North Dakota
Polls closed at 10 p.m. ET in Nevada and earlier in North Dakota. Early results are still pending for key races, including Nevada’s competitive governor and congressional primaries.
