Former Shooting Stars coach Fatai Amao has expressed disappointment that Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen won’t be facing Portugal’s Cristiano Ronaldo in tonight’s international friendly game.
Recall that Osimhen was excused from Nigeria’s friendly against Portugal in Leiria to focus on resolving his imminent club transfer and to avoid any risk of injury during the off-season.

Speaking ahead of tonight’s game, Amao in a chat with Completesports.com, stated that it would have been fascinating to watch the Galatasaray striker come face to face with the Al Nassr star.
“It’s unfortunate that Osimhen won’t be available to face Ronaldo in today’s friendly game. However, I am confident with the other invited players to face Portugal.
“In fact, I would have loved to see Osimhen battle Ronaldo in today’s friendly game. Both players played their best football this season that just ended.”
Roberto Martinez’s side are building towards their tournament opener against the DR Congo on June 17, but Nigeria failed to secure a position in the finals of the summer competition, having lost to the DR Congo in the CAF playoff final on penalties.

The Super Eagles have been regulars in the World Cup since 1994, featuring in six of the last eight tournaments, making the round of 16 twice during that period.
