Darts star Rob Cross announces split from wife and mother of his four children amid 'difficult period'

Former darts world champion Rob Cross has announced he has split from his wife and the mother of his four children.

Cross, 35, met wife Georgia in Hastings and they started dating in 2008. The couple married in 2011.

He sky-rocketed to fame in 2018 when he won the World Darts Championship after turning pro less than a year before, beating icon Phil Taylor in the final in what was the last match of The Power’s career.

He has struggled for form in recent months, though, and has slipped to 22nd in the world amid difficulties away from the oche too.

Cross wrote on X on Wednesday night: ‘After a challenging few years, Georgia and I have decided to separate. Our commitment as co-parents to our 4 children remains as strong as ever and they are our priority.

‘It has been a difficult period while we work out the future. We ask for privacy during this time.’

Their first meeting came when Rob went into a pet shop where Georgia worked. She told the Mirror: ‘We just clicked and it was obvious very quickly how sweet and caring he was.

‘The first time we met up he bought us a bag of chips to share and we just talked for a couple of hours and ate them. 

‘He was already into darts and I soon knew how obsessed he was.’

The couple have two sons together, Bobby and Leyton, and two daughters, Imogen and Madison.

In June 2025, meanwhile, Cross was banned as a company director for five years after his business failed to pay more than £450,000 in tax.

The ban prevents him from being involved in the promotion, formation or management of a company, without the permission of the court, until June 2030.

He set up Rob Cross Darts Limited in 2017 to receive prize money and it took in more than £1.4million in winnings and sponsorship as he embarked on the most successful spell of his career.

But, before Mr Cross liquidated the company in 2023, he took out £300,000, which should have been paid to creditors, including to His Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC).

He also took more than £400,000 from the company in the form of a director’s loan before the company was liquidated. Meanwhile, £665,419 was paid into the personal account of someone with links to Mr Cross.

By the time it went into liquidation, Rob Cross Darts Limited owed the taxman £465,403.

On the topic, Cross later said: ‘It’s not the proudest moment of my life. I’ve done wrong, I hold my hands up.

‘I’m going to pay the money back. We make mistakes in life, but I’m going to correct them.’
