The New York Knicks may have their focus set on hoisting the Larry O’Brien trophy in two days’ time, but their partners have a strict set of rules in place to ensure their relationships survive the championship run.Â
The Knicks continue their historic season on Monday night when they head into Game 3 2-0 up against the San Antonio Spurs with home-court advantage at Madison Square Garden.Â
However, away from the court, New York superstars Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart are also putting the work in.Â
The dynamic duo’s wives, Ali Brunson and Shannon Hart, are used to flying solo throughout the NBA season – and the playoffs are no exception.Â
Yet, that doesn’t mean that their basketball star husbands can completely clock out at home.Â
The pair revealed their secrets to keeping their romances alive throughout the grueling demands of the NBA campaign.Â

Shannon and Ali revealed their secrets to keeping their relationships strong during the season
While Ali insisted that there isn’t one specific rule, she told People that there are steps they take to keep their relationship strong.Â
‘Date nights or coffee dates are essential to take a step back and slow time down. We focus on staying present with each other,’ Ali, who shares two-year-old daughter Jordyn with Brunson, said.Â
Shannon echoed Ali’s sentiment, insisting that ‘quality time’ was the key, whether that comes in the form of coffee dates, lunches or dinners.Â
She shares sons Hendrix and Haze with Hart and she revealed that the family love doing everything together.Â
‘Maybe it’s going shopping with each other, maybe it’s at home and watching a movie or playing a game together. Even taking the boys to school together is a really big thing. We love to do everything together just so they can see us as a family.’Â
Shannon insisted that the Knicks guard is a ‘well-rounded guy,’ which helps keep their family grounded and block out outside noise.Â
‘We still go about our life the same way – focusing on our daughter, family and friends,’ Ali added, echoing Shannon’s claim. ‘At the end of the day, this is his career and he is truly focused on winning.’Â

The Knicks are targeting their first championship since 1973 after reaching the NBA Finals for the first time in 27 years.Â
This year’s Finals are a rematch of the 1999 series when the Spurs won their first of five NBA championships.
However, the Knicks are looking to avoid a repeat of history after having won the first two games in San Antonio.Â
Their dramatic 105-104 victory over the Spurs saw New York extend its winning streak to 13 games in the postseason. Â
