Real Madrid’s presidential election, Michael Olise’s future, Paris Saint-Germain’s stance on Joao Neves and Vitinha, Bayern Munich’s transfer plans and Rafa Leao’s ambitions were among the key topics discussed by Fabrizio Romano in his latest transfer update.
Real Madrid waiting for election result before major announcements
Romano began by outlining how Real Madrid’s transfer plans remain tied to the outcome of the presidential election.
“It’s been the week of Real Madrid. There are elections today and Marca are reporting that Florentino Perez is the leading candidate to become president once again,” Romano told his YouTube video.
“If Florentino Perez wins the elections, several official announcements are ready. Jose Mourinho would become the new coach of Real Madrid. Ibrahima Konate would arrive on a four-year contract as the new centre-back, while Denzel Dumfries would become the new right-back in a €20 million deal.
“Everything is almost ready on that side. Then there is also the Michael Olise situation, with Florentino Perez still prepared to try with a €150m bid for the Bayern Munich winger.”
Michael Olise remains Florentino Perez’s dream target
Romano explained that Real Madrid still intend to test Bayern Munich’s resolve over Olise.
“Florentino Perez said Tuesday would be the day for the official bid and that remains the plan,” he added.
“Bayern are not reacting publicly because there is still no official offer on the table. What people close to the club continue to point towards are the comments made by Uli Hoeness back in May.
“He said there was no chance of selling Michael Olise, not even for €200m. Real Madrid still want to test that position. They want to see if Bayern maintain exactly the same stance once a huge offer is placed on the table.
“Didier Deschamps also spoke about the situation and said there is no right or wrong decision. He believes Olise knows exactly what he wants and understands the situation very well.
“There are several factors involved in this story because it concerns Olise, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid and Florentino Perez. It’s obviously one of the biggest situations to follow.”
Paris Saint-Germain’s position on Joao Neves and Vitinha
Romano also addressed speculation over whether Real Madrid could target players from Paris Saint-Germain.
“When Florentino Perez mentioned a €150m bid, many people immediately started trying to understand who the player could be,” he continued.
“Obviously, Joao Neves and Vitinha came to mind because they are young, elite players, Galactico-level players, winners and key figures for Paris Saint-Germain.
“I can guarantee that after making checks today, the message from Paris Saint-Germain is very clear. Joao Neves is not for sale. Vitinha is not for sale. The message is that both players are untouchable.
“Paris Saint-Germain do not want to break up the team that has won back-to-back Champions Leagues. Nasser Al-Khelaifi is convinced this team can continue winning with Luis Enrique as coach and Luis Campos as director.
“They don’t want to discuss a price, they don’t want to negotiate, and they don’t want to open the door to Real Madrid or any other club.”
Jose Mourinho excited to work with Endrick
Romano also provided an update on Endrick’s future role at Real Madrid.
“Endrick scored for Brazil overnight and there was a big reaction from Carlo Ancelotti on the bench. The feeling around Endrick is very positive,” Romano said.
“Jose Mourinho is really looking forward to working with Endrick. He sees him as a player who can operate as a centre-forward and also on the wing when needed.
“The message Real Madrid sent to Endrick and those close to him before he left for World Cup preparations was very clear. He is going to be part of the squad next season, and he is going to be an important player.
“Mourinho is intrigued by the opportunity to work with a talent like Endrick because everyone at Real Madrid believes he still has huge potential to develop.
“Endrick decided to stay and fight for his place, he earned a call-up for the World Cup and now the next chapter will be under Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid.”
Bayern Munich pushing to complete two deals
Romano then moved on to Bayern Munich’s summer recruitment plans.
“Next week Bayern hope to complete the signing of Ismael Saibari. The agreement with the player has already been done and there are only some final details to resolve with PSV Eindhoven,” he said.
“Bayern remain optimistic because the negotiations are in the final stages and they believe the deal can be completed soon.
“Bayern are also working on a deal for Nathanael Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt. In this case as well, the agreement with the player is already in place.
“They are now working club-to-club with Eintracht Frankfurt and Bayern believe there is a good chance of getting the deal done.”
Rafa Leao wants a Premier League move
Romano finished by discussing Rafa Leao’s future and his desire to leave AC Milan. The Portuguese winger has been linked with Manchester United, Arsenal as well as other clubs in England.
“Rafa Leao has been very clear in recent interviews. He wants a new challenge, and he believes he can perform even better in the Premier League or La Liga,” Romano confirmed.
“The feeling from the player and those close to him is that the Premier League would be the dream destination. That is his priority.
“He has received calls from Turkish clubs in recent weeks, but he wants to wait because he believes the World Cup could create bigger opportunities.
“Leao feels his chapter at AC Milan is finished. His priority is the Premier League and then, as a second option, La Liga.
“At the moment there is nothing advanced with any Premier League club. There are no official bids and there are no concrete negotiations.
“I think the World Cup will be very important because Leao believes it can help open doors and create opportunities for his next move.
“He also explained that injuries and tactical issues affected him at Milan. He feels the system did not suit his qualities because the team often played with two strikers rather than a natural winger.
“Now his focus is on the World Cup and then we will see what happens with his future.”
