US President Donald Trump has sparked alarm as a physical therapist makes worrying claims about his health after “mumbling” on live TV. The concerns were raised after an appearance in the Oval Office, where the 79-year-old addressed reporters during an event focused on environmental policy and “clean coal”.
A healthcare professional who specialises in geriatrics has since shared a detailed analysis of the footage, claiming Trump displayed what he described as “stroke-like” symptoms. However, there is no official evidence that the President has suffered a stroke, and the White House has dismissed speculation about his health.
Adam James, a physical therapist who posts online under the name @epistemiccrisis, analysed footage from the June 4 event and shared his views on Instagram.
James, who says he has 14 years of professional experience and holds a doctorate in his field, claimed Trump’s appearance raised concerns.
In a video posted online, he said: “Don Snorleone had a stroke on camera yesterday.”
He later suggested Trump may have experienced what he described as a “stroke-like event”, pointing to a period when the President had made relatively few public appearances.
Discussing the President’s posture, James said: “I’ve had so many stroke patients over the years that the stroke has affected the strength and the tone of the muscles on one side of their trunk and they cannot maintain upright posture.”
He added: “But when he’s very fatigued and falling asleep, he’s going to lean to one side.”
James also pointed to a moment during the event when he believed Trump struggled with his words before continuing his remarks.
He said: “That right there was the worst instance of expressive aphasia, a common symptom of left sided stroke on the left side of the brain where your language centers are, I have ever seen from him to date. Did you hear him mumble through those words?”
The therapist also claimed Trump’s jaw movements could indicate neurological issues, although these assertions have not been independently verified.
During the briefing, Trump spoke with reporters before handing over to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin.
As the two officials delivered their remarks, some social media users suggested the President appeared tired and briefly closed his eyes.
Despite the claims circulating online, it has never been officially confirmed that Trump has suffered a stroke, dementia or any other neurological condition.
The White House and Trump’s medical team have consistently dismissed similar speculation about the President’s health and said such claims are not supported by medical evidence.
