Donald Trump has once again threatened to get involved in Cuba
Donald Trump said today the US would “handle” Cuba – which he suggested had “collapsed”.
The president said US forces could “stop off” at Cuba following the end of the Iran war – whenever that may be.
In an address to the media at the White House the US president said the island nation had “sort of collapsed” and hinted that US forces would be paying a visit to the Republic of Cuba following their actions in the Middle East.
“It’s sort of collapsed. And we’re gonna handle that as soon as we finish,” he told reporters.
“I like to do one thing at a time. We’ll take care of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and as son as that is done, on our way, back we’ll just make a brief stopover.”
In March Trump gleefully predicted the fall of Cuba, saying: “We cut off all oil, all money, or we cut off everything coming in from Venezuela, which was the sole source. And they want to make a deal.”
Asked whether the United States was playing a role in the Cuban government’s demise, Trump said: “Well, what do you think? For 50 years, that’s icing on the cake.”.
