Rashford in limbo as United refuse Premier League sale

Marcus Rashford has found himself stuck in limbo after Man Utd decided they are unwilling to sanction a move to a Premier League rival this summer, according to the Daily Mirror.

The England international has made it clear he wants to remain at Barcelona, with whom he spent last season on loan, but widespread reports have indicated the La Liga club are not planning to trigger their €30million (£26m) option to make the move permanent.

And The Mirror understands that while Premier League quartet Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur would be prepared to offer a solution to both Rashford and United’s problem, the 20-time league champions have ruled out that prospect.

Red Devils are running the rule over Newcastle’s Hall

Man Utd are closely monitoring Newcastle defender Lewis Hall as they look to strengthen at left-back this summer, according to The Athletic.

The report claims that while the Magpies are not actively looking to sell Hall, they may consider sales as they look to raise funds for a planned rebuild under manager Eddie Howe.

Hall, who has established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League since joining Newcastle from Chelsea in 2023, is thought to be worth in excess of €58m (£50m), The Athletic understands.

United learn West Ham’s asking price for Fernandes

Man Utd have been told they will have to cough up €92m (£80m) if they want to sign highly-rated West Ham United midfielder Mateus Fernandes, according to The Times.

Fernandes is expected to be available following West Ham’s relegation to the Championship, with Nuno Espirito Santo’s side looking to raise funds to cope without the Premier League’s riches next season.

However, United also face competition from Arsenal and PSG for the Portugal international’s signature.

Bournemouth ace Scott a potential target for midfield revamp

Bournemouth star Alex Scott remains a potential target for Man Utd as they press ahead with plans to revamp their midfield this summer, according to The Athletic.

Scott has developed a reputation as one of the Premier League’s most promising young midfielders, with the 22-year-old having helped the Cherries to a sixth place finish and subsequent qualification for the Europa League last season.

The Athletic understands United have made enquiries into how much it would cost to land Scott, having reportedly cooled their interest in signing Newcastle’s Sandro Tonali after being quoted €115m (£100m).
