Arsenal transfer round-up as the Gunners toast their success before getting ready for next season
Arsenal will mark a season to remember on Sunday as players, staff and more than 500,000 supporters line the streets of north London for a victory parade.
The procession will follow a five-mile route through Islington before looping back to the Emirates area. Joyous scenes await as the Gunners revel in the end of their long wait for a trophy following a succession of near misses.
Yet once the countless trophy lifts, celebrations and toasts have subsided, attention will inevitably turn back to preparations for next season. The club cannot afford to rest on their laurels as domestic rivals look to reel in Mikel Arteta’s side, with Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool all poised for fresh starts under new management.

Former Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has urged the Gunners to pursue both Morgan Rogers and Julian Alvarez this summer. Aston Villa’s Rogers and Atletico Madrid’s Alvarez are among the high-profile names strongly linked with a move to Arsenal, with each commanding a price tag of up to £100m.
Walcott told football.london: “We’ll take them both. What player would not want to come to Arsenal? Morgan Rogers would be exceptional. Villa have, of course, got Champions League and he’s English, so it would be a lot of money.
“But I think Arsenal would be able to attract any kind of player. Alvarez, I am a big fan, but I am also a big fan of [Viktor] Gyokeres. They [Arsenal] are going to add and build and get stronger. I feel like they can dominate for many years.”
Nelson returns
Reiss Nelson has returned to Arsenal after Brentford decided against making his move permanent. The 26-year-old suffered a disrupted loan spell due to injuries, restricting him to just 14 outings for the Bees this term.
The Gunners will now seek to offload the academy product, who has 12 months remaining on his deal and doesn’t feature in Arteta’s future plans. His homegrown credentials mean any fee secured will count as pure profit on the profit-and-sustainability ledger.
Brentford director of football Phil Giles said: “Reiss came at the end of last summer’s transfer window, having not played significant minutes since December 2024 while on loan at Fulham.
“Whilst I’m sure he would’ve preferred more Premier League minutes with us during the loan, he has nevertheless made a good contribution with his positivity, attitude and experience around training and matchdays, and leaves us in a better place physically than when he joined.”
