Trump rushes to White House Situation Room to make 'final determination' on Iran peace deal

Donald Trump says he and his advisers will be in the White House’s Situation Room to ‘make a final determination’ on a peace deal with Iran

Donald Trump says he is holding a White House Situation Room meeting with his advisers to make a “final determination” on moving towards a peace deal with Iran.

The US president announced the meeting in a post on Truth Social and listed what a potential deal would need to include.

Trump said Iran must agree to never develop a nuclear weapon, “immediately open” the Strait of Hormuz, remove any sea mines, and have its highly enriched uranium removed and destroyed by the US.

He also said the US naval blockade against Iran “will now be lifted” – but it was not immediately clear if that step would be taken or after conditions of the deal were met.
