US President Donald Trump said the Strait of Hormuz would remain outside the control of any single country as negotiations over the waterway continue.
“We’ll watch over it, but nobody’s going to control it,” Trump said. “That’s part of the negotiation that we have.”
Referring to Oman, which has reportedly been negotiating with Iran over coordination of the strait’s management, Trump said the country “will have to behave like everybody else, or we’ll have to blow them up”.
“They understand that. They’ll be fine,” he added.
