Celtic target Scott McKenna has confirmed that he has no plans to leave Dinamo Zagreb this summer, despite strong speculation suggesting that he could move to the Glasgow giants before the start of next season.
The Scotland international, who will link up with Steve Clarke’s squad this week ahead of the upcoming World Cup, joined Dinamo on a Bosman deal from Las Palmas last July and he played a key role as they reclaimed the Croatian title after losing out to Rijeka last year.
McKenna made 42 appearances across all competitions during the 2025-26 season and he is in contention for a starting berth for Scotland at the World Cup following an excellent spell of form for Dinamo.
It has been widely reported that McKenna has been earmarked as a top target for Celtic ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, with rumours indicating that scouts have been sent to watch him in action in Croatia on a number of occasions this term.
However, it’s claimed that a fee in excess of €10 million may be required to sign him this summer, and McKenna has now poured cold water on reports linking him with a Celtic Park switch ahead of the 2026-27 campaign.

Speaking to reporters after Dinamo clinched the league and cup double, McKenna admitted (via Glasgow Times): “I have a four-year contract, so I’m here for a few more years.
“I knew I was going to the World Cup, but my focus was completely on Dinamo. Now we’ve won the double and I can dedicate myself to Scotland and going to the World Cup.”
McKenna continued: “It’s been a long season and it hasn’t always been easy, but we’ve stuck together and are enjoying ourselves as a team now.
“I’m happy for everyone – the fans, the coaches and everyone at the club.There were some tough times in the first part of the season. We stuck together, the board supported the manager and we’ve been incredible since Christmas.
“We’ve been scoring a lot of goals in a lot of games and it’s been really good to watch.”
With a move for McKenna unlikely to reap any rewards, Celtic will be forced to pursue an alternative centre-back target this summer, with West Bromwich Albion star George Campbell believed to be among the stars on their radar.
