Mikel Arteta still has several training sessions left with his Arsenal team before the UEFA Champions League final
Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in 22-years. The season came to a head at Selhurst Park on Sunday afternoon when Martin Odegaard and Mikel Arteta finally got their hands on the trophy.
The Gunners know their season is not over, however, having qualified for the UEFA Champions League final. They take on Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on Saturday night and have a big build-up for the game.
football.london understands that preparations began some time ago, as Arteta looks to find a way to best Luis Enrique. However speaking after the win at Crystal Palace, he spoke of taking the momentum from the past few weeks into the game.

“We need to do it because we need that energy to flow, and going against that, I think it will be a big mistake,” he said. “We talked about already what we have to do in Budapest, how we’re going to use all the incredible energy that we’re all carrying towards that final, and tomorrow we’re going to start to prepare it.
“And yeah, we can’t wait to write a new chapter in the history of our club and lift the Champions League.”
football.london understands the team are set to have a day off this bank holiday Monday before they return to the training centre on Tuesday. Players not involved in the win on Sunday will be able to be involved in more training, whereas those who did feature could be going through some recovery sessions in addition to any work outside.
The team will then train fully on Wednesday before training again on Thursday, but then flying to Budapest that day. It is understood that details of Arsenal’s parade on Sunday are due to be released this Wednesday as well.
Much of the world’s media will be descending on Hungary between Wednesday and Friday morning with both the press conferences for Arteta (5:15pm) and Enrique (3:45pm) as well as full open training sessions to take place at the Puskas Arena. The game will then take place on Saturday evening at 5pm UK time.
Arsenal’s parade, regardless of whether they have won the Champions League, is expected to start in north London on Sunday at 2pm UK time.
