The suspect involved in an armed incident near the White House has died from injuries sustained during the confrontation, according to CNN, citing the US Secret Service.
The incident prompted a major security response on Saturday evening, with police and federal agents deploying around the White House complex.
US President Donald Trump was inside the White House at the time, according to earlier reports.
The area was cordoned off and access restricted as authorities responded. Kash Patel said FBI personnel were assisting the US Secret Service in investigating the incident.
