All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Bradley Barcola, Julian Alvarez and Christos Tzolis.
Genuine Barcola interest
Arsenal have a “genuine” interest in PSG winger Bradley Barcola, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
The France international is also being chased by Liverpool, but it is believed that PSG will only be open to selling him if they secure the signing of another attacker, such as RB Leipzig wonderkid Yan Diomande.
“In case Diomande decides to go to Paris Saint-Germain, Barcola could be again a serious option for Liverpool,” Romano explained. “This could be the domino. On Barcola, there is genuine interest also from Arsenal. Arsenal also like Barcola.”
Alvarez only wants Barca
Atletico Madrid striker Julian Alvarez has informed his suitors that he is only interested in joining Barcelona this summer, as per Romano’s colleague Matteo Moretto.
The Argentina international is being chased by Arsenal and PSG, but due to his desire to remain in Spain, he is only seriously considering a move to Barcelona, who were recently said to have withdrawn from the race to sign him due to his €150 million price tag.
Now, though, Barcelona could step up their efforts for Alvarez again in the hopes that his desire to make the move convinces Atleti to lower their demands. Should no deal materialise, he would be content to remain in Madrid.
Tzolis coy on future
Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis has spoken about his future amid rumoured interest from Arsenal.
The Greece international has enjoyed two outstanding seasons in Belgium and emerged on the radar of various English heavyweights. After Crystal Palace had a bid rejected for him last year, he is now reportedly being chased by Arsenal, Man City and Man Utd.
Tzolis was asked by DAZN about his future after clinching the Jupiler Pro League title with Brugge this week, and he did not rule out staying at the club beyond this summer.
“It depends on Club Brugge,” he said. “It’s not up to me to decide. We’ll see what the best option is for me. It’s not just about the name. We also have to ask ourselves what the best project is. Why not stay at Club Brugge? I have a contract until 2029.”
Inter want Kepa
Inter are mulling over a move for Arsenal backup goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, Gazzetta dello Sport writes.
The Serie A champions initially planned to sign Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham to become their new No.1, but they have now put this transfer on ice. Josep Martinez has impressed the club hierarchy in recent games and has been promoted to first-choice goalkeeper.
As a result, Inter are now looking for a cheap No.2 and have identified Kepa as a potential target. He joined the Gunners from Chelsea last year but has barely played due to David Raya’s world-class performances.
Hein completes Bremen move
Werder Bremen have officially announced the permanent signing of Karl Hein after his season-long loan to the club.
The Bundesliga side have paid Arsenal €3m for the Estonia international. Hein made just two appearances in the early stages of the campaign, stepping in for injured No.1 Mio Backhaus.
However, Backhaus has now been sold to Europa League finalists SC Freiburg to replace Noah Atubolu, who could be on his way to the Premier League this summer. Hein, who has been dealing with a finger injury, will become Bremen’s new first-choice option between the sticks next term.
