The 2026 summer transfer window is nearly here and although it may be overshadowed by the upcoming World Cup, it promises to be a hectic few months.
Clubs in the Premier League will be able to sign players from 15 June onwards, while teams across the rest of Europe’s top five leagues will be forced to wait slightly longer until the window officially opens. However, a number of high-profile transfers have already been finalised.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through 10 summer deals that have already been completed.
Jeremy Jacquet – €63.6m (Stade Rennais to Liverpool)
Throughout the January transfer window, it looked as though Jeremy Jacquet was destined to join Chelsea amid their pursuit of a new central defender.
However, the Blues were unable to finalise a deal with Stade Rennais, and Liverpool hijacked the deal at the last minute, reaching an agreement for the 20-year-old to move to Anfield for €63.6 million this summer.
At the time, it looked as though Ibrahima Konate would depart, but with the France international now likely to stay at the club, it remains to be seen if Jacquet will break into Arne Slot’s favoured starting XI in 2025-26.
Geovany Quenda – €50.7m (Sporting CP to Chelsea)
Chelsea officially finalised the signing of Geovany Quenda back in March 2025, but he won’t officially arrive at the club until 1 July, with the club agreeing to let him remain at Sporting CP until 2026.
The Portugal winger, who could play as a wing-back under new boss Xabi Alonso, was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United during Ruben Amorim’s time at Old Trafford, but the Red Devils were unable to agree a deal, which allowed Chelsea to swoop.
The 19-year-old missed five months of action during the middle of the season due to a foot injury, however he is now back to full fitness and will look to impress Alonso while a number of his new team-mates are competing at the World Cup.
Rasmus Hojlund – €44m (Man Utd to Napoli)
After two underwhelming seasons as Man Utd’s starting striker, Rasmus Hojlund was sent on loan to Napoli with an obligation to buy for €44m if they qualified for the Champions League.
With Antonio Conte’s side having already confirmed their place in next season’s competition, Hojlund’s move on a permanent basis has been officially announced.
The Denmark international has scored 15 goals this season and he is expected to lead the line for Napoli once again next term.
Lois Openda – €42.8m (RB Leipzig to Juventus)
Juventus signed Lois Openda on an initial loan deal from RB Leipzig last summer and despite a hugely disappointing season, the club have been forced to sign him permanently due to an obligation-to-buy clause in the temporary transfer.
Openda has only scored two goals in 34 games for Juventus this term and it has already been confirmed that Luciano Spalletti’s side want to sell him during the upcoming window.
The 26-year-old was one of the most highly-rated forwards during an impressive stint at Leipzig, but his reputation has dipped massively as a result of his dismal 2025-26 campaign.
Donyell Malen – €25m (Aston Villa to Roma)
Donyell Malen scored 10 goals in 46 games for Aston Villa, but the club decided he was surplus to requirements in January and agreed a loan deal with an obligation to buy with AS Roma.
Tammy Abraham arrived in his place at Villa Park, and has struggled for consistent game time, while Malen has been one of the best forwards in world football since his move to Serie A.
The Netherlands attacker has netted a remarkable 14 goals in 19 appearances for Gian Piero Gasperini’s team and the loan deal has now been made permanent following Roma’s qualification for Europe.
Georgiy Sudakov – €20.3m (Shakhtar Donetsk to Benfica)
Georgiy Sudakov was one of the most sought-after wonderkids in world football during his time at Shakhtar Donetsk, but he ended up at Benfica on loan last summer, rather than one of the biggest clubs in the Premier League.
The Ukraine attacking midfielder, who is still only 23 years old, made 36 appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side during a season-long loan spell in Lisbon and the deal will become permanent for just over €20m this summer.
After a year of adapting to the Portuguese top flight, Sudakov is likely to play a pivotal role for Benfica next season as they look to win the title for the first time since 2023.
Jakub Kiwior – €17m (Arsenal to Porto)
Following the acquisition of Piero Hincapie from Bayer Leverkusen on an initial loan deal, Arsenal had a surplus of defenders at the club and they soon agreed to send Jakub Kiwior on loan to FC Porto.
The Poland star made 39 appearances across all competitions for Francesco Farioli’s side in 2025-26, en route to a first league title in four years, and the transfer has now become permanent for an initial €17m.
Arsenal bizarrely confirmed Kiwior’s exit in a ‘Loan Watch’ article, although Porto announced the permanent transfer in an official club statement.
Manuel Akanji – €15m (Man City to Inter)
Manchester City’s decision to offload Manuel Akanji on loan to Inter Milan last summer was a fairly surprising one considering he had made at least 25 Premier League appearances in each of his three seasons at the club.
However, Pep Guardiola sanctioned a transfer, with Abdukodir Khusanov, and January signing Marc Guehi, stepping up in the Switzerland star’s absence.
Akanji, meanwhile, has played 45 games for Inter this season and their Serie A title win triggered a €15m obligation-to-buy clause included in the loan deal.
Dastan Satpaev – €2.4m (Kairat Almaty to Chelsea)
Chelsea have repeatedly signed talented youngsters during the BlueCo era and Dastan Satpaev is another, with the 17-year-old arriving from Kairat Almaty for a fee of €2.4m in August.
The Blues agreed a deal for Satpaev at the start of 2025, but he has been forced to wait to officially join the club until after his 18th birthday later this year.
The Kazakhstan wonderkid has scored 24 goals in 54 first-team games for Kairat, including once in the Champions League this season.

Emmanuel Emegha – Undisclosed (Strasbourg to Chelsea)
Chelsea formally announced the signing of Emmanuel Emagha last September, much to the anger of Strasbourg fans, who felt let down by their captain.
The Dutchman had enjoyed an excellent debut season with Chelsea’s sister club in 2024-25 and the Blues acted swiftly to finalise a deal for his signature amid competition from multiple teams across Europe.
However, Emegha has endured an injury-hit campaign this term and although he netted eight goals in 18 appearances in 2025-26, there are concerns over his ability to step up to a club of Chelsea’s stature.
