Arsenal’s players have been back out on the training pitch as they prepare for their final match of the season and official coronation
Arsenal have hit the training pitch ahead of their final Premier League match of the season, with a number of players absent from the session. The new Premier League champions will be officially coronated on Sunday when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
But there will be no time for partying just yet as Mikel Arteta’s side will then prepare for the Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain in Budapest on Saturday, May 30.
The Gunners squad has been put through their paces this morning at Sobha Realty Training Centre, but five stars were missing.
Bukayo Saka, William Saliba and Jurrien Timber were nowhere to be seen, but football.london understands that the trio were doing individual work inside the training ground building.
Mikel Merino was also missing initially, but joined the session around quarter of an hour after it began.
Goalkeeper David Raya and youngster Max Dowman were also not involved, but there is a simple explanation for Dowman’s absence. The 16-year-old is currently in the GCSE exam period and is therefore fully focused on his exams.
Mikel Arteta will face the media this afternoon in a double press conference, which will cover this weekend’s final Premier League match against the Eagles and also look forward to the Champions League final.
