Russia says ready to assist Iran-US negotiations if requested

Russian deputy foreign minister Sergey Ryabkov said Moscow is prepared to assist negotiations between Iran and the United States if requested, but does not intend to impose its mediation services.

In an interview with Russia’s TASS state news agency, Ryabkov said Russia was ready to provide “all possible assistance” in resolving the conflict.

Ryabkov said Russia remained committed to resolving tensions through “political and diplomatic channels” and welcomed efforts by Washington and Tehran to resume negotiations.

He also praised what he described as Pakistan’s active role in helping stabilise the situation and supporting efforts towards a lasting peace.
