Piero Hincapie gave it back to Manchester City and fans who criticised Arsenal this season after the Gunners were crowned champions thanks to Bournemouth holding Pep Guardiola’s men to a draw
Arsenal star Piero Hincapie has appeared to mock Manchester City by suggesting they have bottled the Premier League title during wild celebrations on Tuesday night. The Gunners were crowned top-flight champions for the first time since 2004 after City could only manage a 1-1 draw at Bournemouth.
Mikel Arteta’s side will have celebrated long into the night after finally claiming the title after three successive runner-up finishes, with Bukaya Saka and Declan Rice spotted arriving at the Emirates at 5am on Wednesday morning. Arsenal have previously been mocked for lacking the mental strength to be crowned champions, with a City fan famously seen drinking from a bottle last month to signify that the Gunners are bottling it.
Now, Hincapie has appeared to suggest that City are the bottlers after being seen drinking from an Arsenal bottle during their title celebrations on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Saka posted a video on social media, which saw Myles Lewis-Skelly grasping a bottle of bubbly. He said: “They called us bottlers.

“They called us bottlers. And now we’re holding the bottle!”
Rice also posted on Instagram during the celebrations, sharing a selfie alongside Kai Havertz, Eberechi Eze, Lewis-Skelly, Saka and William Saliba, captioning the post: “I told you all, it’s done.”
Rice’s words were in reference to the viral clip of him mouthing “it’s not done” following Arsenal’s defeat at City in April.
The Gunners will lift the Premier League trophy after Sunday afternoon’s fixture at Crystal Palace (4pm BST).
They could still make it an historic double for the club as they chase their first Champions League title in the final against Paris Saint-Germain later this month.
But the title win ends a six-year period without a trophy and is Arteta’s second major honour in charge after the 2020 FA Cup victory.
Among those to congratulate Arsenal was the last manager to lift the title with the Gunners, legendary former boss Arsene Wenger.
In a message posted on the club’s social media accounts, he said: “You did it. Champions go on when others stop. This is your time. Now, go on and enjoy every moment.”
