The Government Media Office in Gaza warned on Tuesday of what it described as a dangerous decline in humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip due to the siege and restrictions imposed by Israel.
Office director Ismail al-Thawabta said that since the ceasefire agreement came into force, only 48,636 aid trucks had entered Gaza out of the 131,400 trucks that were expected under the agreement, representing what he described as a compliance rate of 37 percent.
According to al-Thawabta, more than 63 percent of Gaza’s basic humanitarian needs have therefore not been met.
He added that between the beginning of May and 18th May 2026, only 2,719 trucks entered the territory out of 10,800 scheduled trucks, which he said represented a compliance rate of just 25 percent.
Al-Thawabta accused Israel of deliberately using food, medicine and humanitarian aid as tools of political pressure, describing the restrictions as violations of international humanitarian law with severe consequences for civilians.

He called on the international community, mediators and guarantors of the ceasefire agreement to pressure Israel to fully implement all provisions of the deal, including opening crossings regularly and ensuring the unrestricted flow of humanitarian aid.
The statement also referred to the ceasefire framework announced by US President Donald Trump on 29th September 2025, which included provisions for a ceasefire, partial Israeli withdrawal, prisoner exchanges and the entry of 600 aid trucks daily into Gaza.
The office stated that while Hamas fulfilled its obligations during the first phase, Israel had continued military operations and expanded its presence in Gaza.
According to the statement, the second phase of the agreement was intended to include a broader Israeli withdrawal and reconstruction efforts in exchange for the disarmament of Palestinian factions, an issue that remains disputed between the parties.
