“This will be a major public event, and we anticipate large numbers of supporters will turn out in the local area.
“We hope you are able to join the celebrations on the day, but please be advised that the event will lead to disruption across the borough that will involve road closures and parking suspensions. You may also find it difficult to move normally around the borough or pass through the parade route.
“Details of the route and closures will be announced closer to the event but please consider how this might impact your plans now.”
It added: “Thank you in advance for your cooperation on what would be a special and historic day for our borough.”
After Man City’s draw with Bournemouth on Tuesday night, securing Arsenal’s first Premier League title win in 22 years, leader of Islington Council, Cllr Una O’Halloran, issued a message of congratulations to the team. She said: “The champions of Islington are the champions of England. Congratulations, Arsenal!
“We are so proud of the team for bringing home the Premier League title and, on behalf of everyone in our borough, we congratulate them on their success. Not only have they achieved sporting greatness – they’ve inspired a whole new generation of fans to watch the beautiful game. Thank you, Arsenal, for everything you do for Islington, and congratulations on this incredible achievement.”
