Arsenal are already planning for the summer transfer window
Arsenal have been crowned Premier League champions for the first time in two decades. But winners don’t stand still, and their historic season hasn’t prevented the club from plotting their summer transfer strategy.
The Gunners hierarchy splashed out more than £250million during last summer’s record-breaking window. By bringing in an unprecedented eight players, the current 2025/26 campaign has already turned out to be the most successful in the club’s recent history in terms of their displays across all four competitions.
Manager Mikel Arteta understands that reaching the top is difficult, but maintaining that level takes an even more monumental effort, meaning he’ll depend on sporting director Andrea Berta once more to get deals across the line. Berta is understood to be orchestrating several sales necessary to balance the books before pursuing new signings.

Kroenke makes transfer statement
Josh Kroenke, Arsenal’s co-chairman and son of owner Stan Kroenke, has suggested another substantial summer window lies ahead for the club. Kroenke Sports and Entertainment (KSE) have committed considerable resources to the club throughout Arteta’s reign.
The encouraging news for Arsenal supporters is that last season’s record spending appears to be the start of a new era rather than a one-off, with the Kroenkes determined to push forward and maintain their competitiveness both domestically and on the European stage.
Writing in the match-day programme ahead of Arsenal’s game with Burnley, Josh said: “We will give everything we’ve got to win major trophies. And you can rest assured that everyone at the club will continue the hard work to make the coming weeks unforgettable.
“We couldn’t have reached this point without the incredible support and backing you have given us once again, and we know you will create another electric atmosphere here tonight. The connection we feel with our supporters fills us with pride.

Fabio Vieira snubbed
Hamburg have rejected the chance to sign Arsenal misfit Fabio Vieira on a permanent basis. The Portuguese midfielder, who joined the Gunners in 2022 for £34m, headed to Hamburg on a season-long loan agreement last summer.
Arsenal had hoped their out-of-favour midfielder would leave permanently this summer, given they agreed an option-to-buy clause with the German side when the deal was struck. But that £19.16m option has been snubbed by Hamburg at the end of his loan spell.
The 25-year-old was instrumental in ensuring the club finished comfortably above the drop zone in their first campaign back in the top flight, contributing seven goals and five assists in the league. It is believed HSV are hoping to secure Vieira on a permanent basis for less than €10m (£8.7m), though this figure falls well short of the buy-option sum that was hurriedly agreed between the two clubs on deadline day in September.
However, there remains a possibility that a deal could be struck, with Vieira expressing interest in remaining in Germany and further discussions planned. When asked about the prospect of staying at Hamburg next season, Vieira told reporters: “I have to be open to everything. Let’s see what happens.
“No matter what the future brings, I was very happy here and will be forever grateful to the HSV. The club did everything for me, the support was amazing. I feel the love of the fans and the club. They all love me.”
