Former Nigerian international Victor Ikpeba believes the Super Falcons remain the team to beat at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
He made this known during Monday Night Football on SuperSport, where he praised the array of talented players playing their football in Europe and across the world.
Ikpeba also lauded the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) for securing a friendly game against Senegal, saying it would help to put the players in shape for the tournament.
The fixtures come after multiple failed attempts by Nigeria to secure high-level warm-up games before the start of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations scheduled for 25 July.

“We are always the team to beat, and kudos to the NFF. I said it some months ago: it was never intentional. They will do what is right for our girls to go out there and defend their title.
“The NFF is clever enough; the Super Falcons are having two friendly matches (against Senegal) in Remo within three days. It is good to see our girls come back home and play friendly matches.
“At the end of the day, our girls are everywhere in Europe and America. Not every African country has the pedigree of having their girls play abroad.
“Nigeria is spoilt for choice with those girls who are spread around the world.”
