Boston Celtics star Jaylen Brown continued his ongoing beef with ESPN ‘First Take’ star Stephen A. Smith on Sunday night with an explicit rant during a stream on his Twitch channel.
Brown, who was streaming to his followers, addressed a comment that Smith made about the Celtics guard on the network.
The 2024 Finals MVP was unflinching in his criticism: ‘F*** Stephen A,’ Brown said on the stream.
‘Stephen A, Stephen B, Stephen C. Like, my offer still stands: you want me to be quiet and stop streaming, well I want you to be quiet and get off these networks.
‘Because you’re not using your platform to do real journalism.’
The two have frequently butted heads on social media platforms and through other media outlets.

Smith called out Brown for saying last year was one of his favorites despite the loss of co-star Jayson Tatum – with the pundit and analyst telling the player he ‘needs to be quiet’

Things took a turn at the end of the Celtics’ season, when Brown called it his ‘favorite’ campaign of his career.
It’s worth noting that for most of the season, Brown’s Boston co-star Jayson Tatum was rehabbing an injury until he returned to play in March.
Smith advised that Brown ‘needs to be quiet’ and ‘go on vacation’ unless Brown was intentionally saying such things to be traded.
Those words led to Brown’s rant on Sunday night: ‘Tell this motherf***er to retire, because he’s the face of clickbait media at the point.
‘And maybe with his retirement, we can spark a movement to get the rest of these motherf***ers out of here – or to also have some type of… forget journalistic integrity, actual integrity in order to hold themselves accountable to the bulls**t takes they put out.’
The 2025-26 campaign was the best of Brown’s career. The guard averaged a career-high 28.7 points in the regular season, earning him a fourth-consecutive All-Star Game appearance.
But even with Tatum back and healthy, the Celtics failed to get past the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of the NBA playoffs.
After the playoffs, Brown was fined $50,000 for criticizing referees on his livestream following his team’s elimination – claiming they have an ‘agenda.’
