Trump drops new chilling Iran war threat as peace progress stalls – 'clock is ticking'

Donald Trump has warned Iran to ‘get moving fast, or there won’t be anything left’ of the country as talks to bring the war to and end have once again stalled

Donald Trump has issued a chilling new threat to Iran, warning there “won’t be anything left” of the country as hopes of a peace deal hang by a thread.

It comes after the US president warned the ceasefire in place since early April was on “massive life support” after the US rejected Iran’s proposal to end the war. Trump called Tehran’s counter offer to US proposals “totally unacceptable”.

In a fresh threat to the country today, Trump said in post on his Truth Social platform: “They better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them.” He added: “TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE!”

Esmail Baghaei, an Iranian foreign ministry spokesperson, insisted Iran’s last offer to the US was “responsible” and “generous”.

The proposal included an immediate end to fighting on all fronts – including Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon – as well as a halt to the US naval blockade of Iranian ports, and guarantees of no further attacks on Iran.
