US President Donald Trump said China had agreed to purchase 200 aircraft from Boeing, with the possibility of expanding the order to 750 planes in the future.
“If they do a good job with the 200, which I’m sure they will,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One.
The agreement would mark Boeing’s first major sale to China in nearly a decade and could provide a significant boost for the company in one of its key international markets.
Trump said Boeing chief executive Kelly Ortberg accompanied him during the trip to Beijing.
The US president also said China would buy between 400 and 450 aircraft engines from General Electric, though he did not provide an exact figure.
