Real Madrid are trying to reach a gentleman’s agreement with Juventus over the future of star winger Kenan Yildiz, according to reports in Italy.
Yildiz has emerged as one of the brightest young wingers in the world following his breakthrough in 2023, with the 21-year-old having scored 27 goals in 130 appearances for Serie A giants Juventus.
After scoring 12 goals in all competitions for the Bianconeri in 2024-25, Yildiz has hit double figures once again this season, finding the back of the net on 11 occasions with Luciano Spalletti’s men.
Such has been Yildiz’s impressive form for Juventus that La Liga heavyweights Real hold strong interest in his services, according to Italian publication Tuttosport.
And while Tuttosport claim Juventus have made it clear that Yildiz, who is under contract until 2030, is not for sale this summer, Real have reportedly asked to stay in the loop if anything changes.
Tuttosport speculate that Real could build towards a future deal for Yildiz by selling striker Gonzalo Garcia to Juventus, with The Athletic also reporting that the 22-year-old may be offloaded in order to free up funds.
While it remains to be seen whether Real trigger an agreement regarding Yildiz, the club are pressing ahead with plans to bring manager Jose Mourinho back to the Bernabeu.
BBC Sport understands Los Blancos are in final negotiations with the Portuguese over a dramatic return to the club whom he managed between 2011 and 2013, winning three honours.
The Athletic reported last week that Real president Florentino Perez, who is driving the club’s search for a permanent replacement for Alvaro Arbeloa, had made Mourinho his preferred candidate.
Arbeloa stepped up from Real’s academy to replace Xabi Alonso as manager of the senior team in January, with the latter having been dismissed after just eight months in the role.
Former Liverpool defender Arbeloa has won 15 of his 25 games in charge of Real, drawing two and losing eight, with Real having registered their second successive season without a major trophy.
Real missed out on winning La Liga to fierce rivals Barcelona, while they were also beaten by Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals and second division side Albacete in the Copa del Rey round of 16.
Analysis: Yildiz looking to return to goalscoring form this season
While Yildiz has posed respectable numbers in Serie A this season, the attacker will be hoping to score his first goal since March when Juventus host Fiorentina in the league on Sunday.
Yildiz will also be hoping to star for Turkey at the World Cup this summer, with Vincenzo Montella’s side having been drawn in Group D alongside Australia, Paraguay and tournament co-hosts United States.
