Nigerian-born Greece international, Giannis Antetokounmpo (The Greek Freak) is closer than ever to the exit door at USA National Basketball Association (NBA) former champions, Milwaukee Bucks, Sports247 reports.
This follows a decision by the NBA to drop investigations launched against the club after Antetokounmpo (stylized from Adetokunbo) complained about conduct by the team’s officials to restrict his desire for a transfer.

The media tagged it a’ contentious shutdown of the former MVP’ and the NBA was pressured to wade into the matter, but the league’s organizing committee has now determined that no further action is required.
Consequently, with Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee cloudy as ever, The Bucks are looking towards trade offers in the 2026 NBA Draft and co-owner Jimmy Haslam admitted the star may not be in the team at the start of next season.
Their relationship worsened when Antetokounmpo spoke out publicly in March against the team’s decision to shut him down for the remainder of the season, which The Bucks’ then head coach, Doc Rivers insisted was due to health reasons.
However, officials of National Basketball Players Association didn’t believe and the NBA soon began its investigation into Bucks’ relationship with the Nigerian-born star, who insisted he was healthy and ready to play.
Rivers has since stepped down and the team is facing an offseason in which they have to make peace with Antetokounmpo and him happy with a revamped supporting cast or continue be contending with the 31-year-old towering star.
They will have to move fast in order to avoid repeating the disaster they faced in the 2025-26 season, in which the team went 32-50 and Antetokounmpo asked them to trade him multiple times, then declined to participate in a 3-on-3 scrimmage.
