Juventus’ charm offensive for Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has been led by Cristiano Ronaldo, with the Turin club having employed several star figures to talk the Portugal international into a summer move.

Bernardo Silva will leave Man City when his contract expires at the end of June, and there is intense interest in the 31-year-old.

The attacking midfielder has fielded numerous enticing offers. Barcelona and Atletico Madrid have both made inquiries after him, while there is also the possibility of a switch to Galatasaray, the Saudi Pro League or MLS.

Juventus’ Bernardo Silva contract offer

Juventus cannot offer Bernardo Silva the same financial incentives to move to them as some of their rivals, but to combat this they have employed a string of high-profile former players to talk him into a deal. In particular, Ronaldo has been asked to promote the club to his compatriot, Tuttosport reports. Joao Cancelo and Danilo have also been pushing the former Monaco player to move to Italy.

In return, Silva will earn €6 million per year, plus €2m potentially to arrive in bonus payments – half to arrive in the event of Champions League qualification and the other half tied to appearances and goals. Juve have offered him a contract until 2028, with a further one-year extension possible.

This pales in comparison with regard to Galatasaray’s offer. The Super Lig club will pay the player €10m per season and are ready to furnish him with a “generous signing bonus”.

Juventus are hopeful that the influence of Ronaldo will be telling.

Bernardo Silva is already said to be researching Italian football and conditions at Juve to see if it’s the right move for his career.

Silva has confirmed City exit

Silva has already confirmed that he will leave City in the summer.

In April, he sent an emotional message to fans via his social channels, stating: “Cityzens, when I arrived nine years ago, I was following a dream of a little boy, wanting to succeed in life, wanting to achieve great things.

“This city and this club gave me much more than that, much more than I ever hoped for. What we won and achieved together is a legacy that will forever be cherished in my heart.

“In a few months it’s time to say goodbye to the city where not only we won so much as a football club, but also where I started my marriage and my family.

“To the fans, your unconditional support throughout the years is something that I will never forget. I arrived as a Man City player, I leave as one more of you, a Man City supporter for life.”

Silva to join Alisson at Juve?

Juventus are ready to build their summer transfer plans around veterans, with Bernardo Silva and Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson both major targets for the Turin side.

Alisson has already agreed personal terms with the Serie A club, according to reports from Italy, but a fee needs to be agreed with Liverpool before any move takes place.

Juve are closing in on Champions League football next season, but need victories over both Fiorentina and Torino to ensure it. This could play as big a role as Ronaldo in attracting Bernardo Silva to the club.
