Qatar, Kuwait urge diplomacy to sustain US-Iran ceasefire

Qatar’s prime minister and Kuwait’s foreign minister have called for continued diplomacy to prevent renewed escalation in the US-Iran conflict.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani and Sheikh Jarrah Jaber Al Ahmad Al Sabah discussed regional developments, including the ceasefire between Washington and Tehran, according to a Qatari foreign ministry statement.

The two officials highlighted “efforts aimed at de-escalation in a way that contributes to strengthening security and stability in the region”.

They also stressed the importance of sustained mediation, urging all parties to remain engaged in dialogue that could “lead to a sustainable agreement that prevents renewed escalation”.
