Arsenal’s plan for facing Paris Saint-Germain is obvious to Nicky Butt and it means Mikel Arteta will need to start one player for any hope of success against the Ligue 1 side
Arsenal must start Lenadro Trossard to pose any counter-attacking threat against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final, according to former Manchester United midfielder Nicky Butt. He doesn’t believe that will prove enough to pose a persistent threat against the French giants, however.
Trossard scored a match-winning goal against West Ham in the Premier League to push the Gunners one step closer to a Premier League title with two games remaining. The match against PSG swiftly follows their Premier League campaign.
Butt believes that Arsenal’s game plan is easy to see and expects the Gunners to sit back against Luis Enrique’s side. The ex-Newcastle ace believes that ensures Mikel Arteta’s men will struggle going forward due to their lack of pace.

Set-pieces are set to be crucial given Arsenal’s prowess, but Butt reckons PSG showed they were adept at defending against a bigger team when they progressed past Bayern Munich. While making PSG big favourites, Butt isn’t ruling out Arsenal completely, however.
“I don’t see anyone beating PSG,” Butt told Paddy Power. “Arsenal don’t have any counter-attacking threat, they don’t have anyone to do that with pace.
“I thought defending would be PSG’s downfall against Bayern, especially with Achraf Hakimi out as Marquinhos struggles for pace at his age. But they were solid.
