Chelsea are reportedly ready to offer Enzo Fernandez a new contract at the club as they look to ward off interest from the likes of Manchester City and Real Madrid.
The Argentina international has been an integral player at Stamford Bridge since his arrival from Benfica in January 2023, but he has been heavily linked with a high-profile exit in recent months amid their drastic slump in form.
Chelsea haven’t won a Premier League match since 4 March and although Fernandez still has six years remaining on his current contract with the west London giants, he is one of several players who could depart the club this summer.
Fernandez hinted that he would like to move to Madrid during the March international break and widespread reports have indicated that he is not one of Chelsea’s ‘untouchables’, unlike Moises Caicedo, Levi Colwill and Cole Palmer.
Despite this, Fernandez proved his worth yet again against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon, scoring Chelsea’s equaliser in the 35th minute, and transfer expert Nicolo Schira claims that he is set to receive a new contract offer valid until either 2033 or 2034.

Fernandez’s agent recently admitted that Chelsea failed to match their demands with a recent contract offer, but fresh talks have been planned for this summer and it’s now revealed that a new bid is set to be lodged by the west London giants.
However, it remains to be seen if Fernandez will accept a new deal at Stamford Bridge or if he will look to leave the club after the World Cup.
Speaking in April, Javier Pastore, Fernandez’s agent, said: “There have been talks about renewing his contract, yes. We started discussing it around December or January, but we couldn’t reach an agreement.
“As Enzo’s contract still has six years to run, we decided not to renew it because the terms weren’t right for us or for the player. Given what Enzo is capable of today, he deserves much more than he’s currently earning.
“We haven’t reached an agreement and it may be that this annoyed the club, given that he is a hugely important player, but these are things that have to be managed.
“We felt that rather than renewing on terms that wouldn’t make the player happy, it was better to leave things as they are and focus on playing and performing well. We don’t want to get into discussions about figures, contracts and negotiations when the timing wasn’t right.
“Our plan after the World Cup is to meet with Chelsea again and, if there is no agreement, to explore other options.”
Man City, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are all believed to be monitoring Fernandez’s situation at Chelsea, with the latter currently regarded as the frontrunners for his signature if he departs west London during the upcoming summer transfer window.
Fernandez has scored 30 goals in 166 games for Chelsea, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) currently stands at €91.3 million.
