Remo Stars technical adviser, Usman Abd’Allah, has described his side’s hard-fought 2-1 comeback victory over Bayelsa United in Ikenne as a defining moment in their fight for survival in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL).

Speaking after the Matchday 37 encounter on Saturday, Abd’Allah praised his players for showing resilience and determination despite conceding an early goal.
Bayelsa United stunned the home supporters in the eighth minute when Ofem Nneoyi gave the visitors the lead.
However, Remo Stars responded positively as Alex Oyowah restored parity before halftime, while captain Victor Mbaoma completed the comeback with the winning goal in the 64th minute.
Abd’Allah said the victory reflected the team’s preparation and fighting spirit at a crucial stage of the season.
“This was a defining match for us because we knew what was at stake,” Abd’Allah said after the game.
“The players showed character after going behind early in the match. We prepared very well, stayed focused, and the response from the team was excellent.”
The experienced coach also commended the club’s management and supporters for standing by the team during a difficult campaign.
“We have remained united despite the challenges this season.
The management, players, and fans have continued to believe, and this result is very important for our survival hopes,” he added.
The victory keeps Remo Stars’ hopes of retaining their NPFL status alive heading into the final day of the season, while the defeat confirmed Bayelsa United’s relegation to the Nigeria National League (NNL).
Captain Victor Mbaoma also praised the team’s mentality after recovering from the early setback.
“We were shocked to concede so early, but we showed strength and resilience to come back and win the game,” Mbaoma said.
Remo Stars will now shift attention to their final league fixture as they continue their battle to avoid relegation from the NPFL.
